From Bavaria to the Pacific Northwest: The Inspiring Journey Behind pFriem Lager
The People's Beer of the PNW
In 2016, Josh Pfriem embarked on a quest to Munich in search of the Holy Grail of beer and a way to elevate it to new heights. While he anticipated drinking plenty of German Pilsner, it was the impact of Helles Lager that left an indelible mark on him. The Bavarian culture around Helles was unlike anything he had ever experienced before; it wasn't just a beer, but a way of life that brought people together in a joyous community. Helles lager was the thread that wove people, experiences, and tradition into a beautiful tapestry. It tasted so good liter after liter, pint after pint. It was undeniably the "People's Beer".
Upon returning home, Josh was deeply inspired to bring this culture and way of life to the Pacific Northwest, similar to what he had done with German Pilsner. Although they had brewed Helles for many years at that point, he felt a burning desire to develop their Helles by paying homage to the great brewmasters of Germany and staying authentic to the pFriem way. And so began a seven-year-long journey that culminated in the pFriem lager – a beer that captures the essence of Bavarian Helles while also reflecting the spirit of the PNW.
As one enjoys the refreshing taste of pFriem Lager, they are not just indulging in a beer – they are immersing themselves in the culture that inspired it. pFriem Lager is more than just a drink, it's a way of life that brings people together in the PNW community. It's a beer that's both approachable and easy drinking, yet complex and intriguing, making it the perfect companion for those moments when people want to share a few rounds with friends. With each sip of pFriem Lager, one is invited to join the celebration of the community-driven lifestyle of Bavaria and create casual moments of joy and connection with loved ones in the Pacific Northwest.
