History
An Imperial Brown Ale lives in a similar realm as an Imperial Stout, but more malt focused, full, strong, and balanced. We use heritage malt varieties such as Marris Otter and Golden Promise to drive this complex and luscious beer. We then lay it down in Willit Rye Whiskey barrels for just under a year. The fruit, spice and heat of the Rye beautifully complement the toffee, dark chocolate and nougat of the Brown for a delightful libation for Rye and Ale lovers alike!
Tasting Notes
Pours a rich black walnut with whipped, mochachino foam. Alluring aromas of Brandied cherry, nutmeg, cinnamon, and a kiss of char. Rich and bold flavors of creamy vanilla bean, Rye, dried fruit, and toffee. Finishes with a touch of spice, wood smoke, and round heat.
Food Pairings
Oysters, mussels, lobster, crab, cams, scallops, and calamari. Ham, prosciutto, pancetta, and bacon. Hearty beef stews, Short-ribs, Root vegetables, potatoes, stuffing. Chocolate based desserts, such as truffles, crème brûlé, raspberry or strawberry tart.
