Brewer’s Apprentice

Hood River


This is an entry-level position with a special focus on keeping the brewery clean and running smoothly. Our new apprentice will be asked to support the brewers, cellarmen, and packagers as needed. This may include, but will not be limited to: spent grain handling, end of the week cleaning, CIP, packaging, and general brewery upkeep.

The proper fit for this position is someone who is dedicated to the craft of brewing with a strong appreciation for good beer. He or she is a hard worker, capable of multitasking effectively, and able to work with sharp focus and cleanliness. Seeking hands-on experience, and the opportunity to learn in an elite setting.

  • Ability to lift 55-pound bags of malt and 44-pound boxes of hops repeatedly
  • Safely operate a stand up electric forklift
  • Comprehend and remember procedures
  • Self motivate and maintain a fast pace of detailed, accurate work
  • Contribute to our obsessive cleanliness
  • Brewing experience, formal brewing education, and a background in math and science is preferred
  • Solid references are required


This is an hourly position, requiring 40 hours per week, with competitive pay based upon experience. Other benefits include: beer benefits, health care insurance, 401(k), and three weeks paid vacation accrued annually.
